Gender and the Politics of History - Joan W. Scott Most of the people in my history grad intro seminar didn't like this. I thought it was pretty cool. A lot has been said about gender as a category of analysis -- I'm a middle-aged white guy, so I was more interested in Scott's ideas about power and marginalized groups, regardless of who they are.
